We Are One!

Updated: May 31, 2023

We did it!! We made it to our first birthday!! Despite the challenges of sky rocketing food prices and energy costs, we have had an absolutely amazing year 1 of Piece Out. We could not have done it without the support of our nearest and dearest, as well as you, our amazing customers.

Here are some of our favourite bits

  1. Opening! A wee dream come true for two slightly middle aged girls.

  2. Events! Some you win, some you never want to do again. But every experience gives us something back so whilst we may never make over 500 sandwiches for a 1 day event anytime soon, we learned that people who lift atlas stones for fun on a Saturday afternoon are HUNGRY! Thanks to Dedicated Condition and Coach Amy for inviting us. Much more fun than standing in the back of a muddy field in the pouring rain under a leaky gazebo. She who dares wins (sometimes).

  3. Christmas - this was our mega busy month. Event after event for 3 weeks solid which definitely required time off to recover and drink copious amounts of wine. And cook Christmas dinner for everyone. Piece on earth indeed...

  4. Time Off is a blessing, even if it is spent with angsty teenagers scouring the city for Prime.

  5. The temperature. 2 degrees in winter with a hot water bottle strapped to us to keep warm, the next minute it's summer, 42 degrees in the shop, sitting in the fridge to cool down. We found a happy medium for a few short weeks in spring/autumn.

  6. The Dishwasher. How on earth did we wash all those dishes all day long before our beloved dishwasher got installed? Stacie nearly lost a digit to contact dermatitis as a result. She tried to complain to HR but with little success.

  7. Laughing. Jokes, stories, banter, faces in food,

  8. Dancing. Usually when no one is watching, except Jim. Jim always catches us busting a move

  9. Graze In. Being so busy with events that we decided to create a whole other business dedicated to catering events with our Graze Boards.

  10. Winging It. Business, life, eyeliner...
